One of the theological explorations of the emergence of creation found in the Hebrew Bible describes the adam, or human, as being formed last. The adam has no sex, no gender, no race, no religion. The adam also has no independence from the water and the sky, the birds and the buffalo, the leviathan and the whale. Humanity is utterly dependent on the more-than-human world for not only for survival but for the richness of living, the wealth that is both being born and dying.
Forest therapy is one means for reconnecting, or re-wilding, human creatures. It is a space of intention, wonder, and ritual that supports us in learning to "speak tree" once more.
In May of 2022 I hope to have earned a certificate in forest therapy from the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides. Please let me know if you would like to participate in any of my forest therapy offerings while I am a student or beyond.
